Our Top Instagrammable Spots in Italy

Nothing prepares you for the beauty of Italy, and sometimes the camera doesn’t do the memory justice, but we’ve compiled a list of our top sites in Italy for photographs that will inspire wanderlust!

Tuscany

The stunning natural beauty of the Tuscan countryside is unrivalled in Europe. Witness endless shades of green and yellow in every direction while sipping exquisite wines in one of the vast choice of vineyards. Visit one of the regions medieval castles for some extra history lessons and get some sophisticated shots of the impressive architecture.

Cinque Terre

The phrase picture-perfect could have been created to describe this beautiful string of villages along the Italian Riviera coastline. The five towns are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, each as breathtaking as the other. Our favourite would have to be candy-coloured Manarola, which is probably where you picture when you hear Cinque Terre. However, each town has something unique to offer and will deliver memorable photos for your friends back home.

Peak of Mount Vesuvius

This sounds daunting, but with pre-bookable buses that take you the majority of the way up the towering volcano, the hike isn’t as bad as you’d think (comfy shoes and lots of water is still recommended!). But once you reach the top you realise the view is worth it. Looking out over the Gulf of Naples with the island of Capri seemingly floating on the clouds in the distance is a once in a lifetime experience and the perfect spot to capture some photo album highlights.

Venice’s Canals

This city is such an exciting and unusual city to experience due to the lack of roads and cars, and capturing it on camera is no different. Try different angles along the gorgeous canal banks and tick one off the bucket-list with a gondola ride to the Grand Canal and see Venice the way it’s intended. Head to Burano island for unique snaps of rainbow buildings reflected in the surrounding waters and finish with a delicious meal in one of the eateries after a long day of documenting your adventures.

Positano Cliffside

If you have Pinterest, then you will have seen this famously photogenic village. The view of dreamy pastel buildings cascading down a cliffside on the Amalfi Coast is truly jaw-droppingly, and the narrow winding streets lined with cute cafes and charming boutiques are a paradise to get lost in. For the best photos you ideally need to be on a boat as views from the sea capture the town perfectly. Take a boat trip and experience even more of the rugged and striking Amalfi Coast.

Literally Everywhere in Rome…

When wandering the streets of Rome, it’s unlikely you’ll be putting your camera away for more than a couple of minutes. With iconic monuments such as the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum dotted all over the city, and incredible architecture, statues and fountains around every corner you can get easily get your fill of Insta-worthy shots. Try visiting Pincio Terrace in Villa Borghese at sunset for views over the city or explore Trastevere neighbourhood for buzzing side streets lined with atmospheric bars and restaurants.
